Sage Hypnotherapy and Coaching

Expert Hypnotherapy and Coaching

I have been a hypnotherapist since 1992. Primarily doing hypnosis as a sideline while teaching Special Education. In 2014, I decided to move into the field of hypnotherapy full-time.

Originally received my training through local psychologist Freddi Gold, Ph.D., MFCC, and Dave Walling, M.S., VFCC, in 1992 and continued my education in hypnotherapy and hypnosis at the Hypnosis Motivation Institute in Tarzana, CA. HMI has earned the distinction of being America's first hypnotherapy training school to become nationally accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education in Washington, D.C.

There are many areas of focus that I assist clients with, from dealing with anxiety to becoming a non-smoker to simple relaxation and stress management. I have also worked with a variety of clients, from law enforcement to educators to performers in the entertainment industry.

As well as offering one-on-one hypnotherapy sessions, I am also providing seminars and workshops covering a variety of topics ranging from dealing with Anxiety, Taking your business to the Next Level, Tending Your Mind Garden, Be Smoke-Free, and more.

But First... Let's Talk About What Hypnosis is Not.

We've all seen movies where a person goes into hypnosis, and their world is turned upside down. From Office Space to Stir of Echoes, hypnosis has provided some very funny as well as very scary moments. The truth of the matter is that hypnosis is a much more mundane process with natural explanations.

With your hypnotherapist, you work as a team. S/he is not a deranged Svengali character who will mind control you, but rather a supportive partner to assist in solving the issues you are looking to overcome.

Hypnosis will not open a gateway to a different dimension in which aliens will travel through you to take over the world. Thank goodness. I have enough trouble finding a parking space.

Hypnosis is not mind control. Hypnosis is not magic. Hypnosis cannot make you somebody's slave or zombie. The hypnotic trance itself does not last forever, but the effect of hypnosis does.

So Now, What Hypnosis is

As physical therapy and training can help adjust and modify how a person physically performs, hypnosis is able to help the mind's performance. Hypnosis is merely a way of retraining a person's brain. If you think about it, we all have learned everything that makes us who we are. Not everything we learn is always healthy for us. For example, perhaps you are a smoker. The body and mind had to learn to be a smoker through physical and mental acting. All hypnosis does is allow the client to get back to that place in the mind and change perspective on that behavior.

Our unconscious mind handles our every non-conscious thinking activity from breathing to brushing our teeth to all of the mundane things that we do without first thinking about them. Our conscious mind is merely the gateway to the subconscious. It handles our immediate needs. It acts as a filter. It keeps distractions and unimportant things from becoming set and permanent. The mind protects itself. Just as we instinctively raise our arms to block a flying baseball from hitting us, our minds block things that could be damaging or distracting. Sometimes, we need to get around those blocks to change the way we see the world and deal with problems.

What Can Hypnosis Do for Me?

Ever wonder what it would be like to unlock your potential? Do you ever find yourself thinking about what you could be doing? Now, imagine yourself running faster, jumping higher, getting that job you want, or doing what you have always wanted to do but were too reserved to do it. Perhaps you have hoped that you would feel better. You wished you could adjust your attitudes and moods. Maybe you have wanted to change your personal perspective. Now, visualize yourself walking into a room and feeling at ease with any new situation. Consider leaving your anxious feelings behind for good.

Imagine feeling more confident and more capable daily. Hypnosis is the answer you are looking for. Hypnotherapy is a non-intrusive way to help individuals address not only pressing concerns but focus on physical goals as well. Frequently, hypnotherapists are able to assist doctors and their clients with pain management, weight management, pre- and post-surgery hypnosis, smoking cessation, and many more concerns.

Hypnotherapists assist athletes in achieving peak performance. Sports players often get help overcome hurdles, thereby unlocking the potential they have stored within. Both individual athletes and teams have benefited from sports hypnosis.

The use of hypnosis can assist individuals with fears and phobias. Whether your concern is flying or driving to seemingly mundane issues such as spiders or heights, hypnosis is an effective way to deal with your problems. Wouldn't it be nice to leave your fear behind?

Stress is the number one issue for people that causes both physical and mental anguish. Motivated individuals can shed stress and live healthier lives. Stress gets in the way of mental prowess. Feel like you just aren't on your game? Hypnosis can help you focus and maintain that focus.

Hypnosis is an approach to mental and physical health that has proven to be very successful. It has been around for thousands of years and has helped very successful people, from Albert Einstein to Tiger Woods to Winston Churchill. There is no issue too small or too large for hypnosis to help in some way, shape, or form. If you are considering making a change in your life, hypnosis is your answer. Perhaps you want to live a healthier lifestyle, quit smoking, or manage your weight. Hypnosis is far less expensive and much more successful than many programs that come and go. Suppose you just want to work on motivation and focus. Why go to some motivational guru and spend thousands when you can attain results with your own personal life coach? Maybe you have issues that don't seem to fit into any specific category, but you still want some help. Hypnosis can help you.

Working as a team with your hypnotherapist, you will determine what is your desired goal and work together to achieve it. If it is a medical or mental health concern, your hypnotherapist is always willing to work with your healthcare professionals to assist you in the best, most effective, and ethical way possible.

Remember that hypnosis is all about you
